It appears that the malaise which has permeated the Doha Round since the collapse of the 2008 Mini-ministerial has been lifted! Though the WTO DG has persistently promoted strategies aimed at advancing the Doha Round beyond its current impasse, it was recognised that in the absence of genuine political will amongst the major WTO Members to make compromises, little progress could be attained.
