The Meeting of Ministers of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Council for Trade and Economic Development (COTED) took place in Guyana 14-15 May 2009. This Twenty-Seventh Meeting of Trade Ministers facilitated the consideration of a number of trade and economic matters, including external trade relations.
In this special issue, the decisions taken on key agenda items specifically related to external trade relations will be outlined. The issues include - The developments in relation to the preparations for the negotiation of the CARICOM-Canada trade and development agreement;
- World Trade Organisation (WTO) Review of the CARIFORUM-EC Economic Partnership Agreement;
- The implications of the EPA Regional Preference Provisions
- The WTO Aid for Trade initiative.
